Empathy

Webster’s Definition: the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present

Helping Hands Definition: stepping into our clients home with full understanding that this is their home, their needs, and their comfort zone. Respecting their comfort zone with high integrity and responding to the change in their needs with patience and virtue. Continuously monitoring for signs and clues from our clients on how to better serve them.

Many clients are nervous to have someone new come into their home. Our caregivers ease the clients’ anxiety by showing empathy and understanding how it can be nerve racking allowing someone to help.
